What is Acidity

Acidity also known as Acid reflux is a condition in which the gastric glands produce excess acid. This acid moves up to the esophagus from the stomach and damages the esophageal lining causing a burning sensation.

Symptoms of Acidity

  • Feeling of Heaviness
  • Pain in the Stomach
  • Burning sensation in the stomach and esophagus
  • Sour tasting liquid coming in the mouth

Three Asanas to Heal Acidity

  • Paschimottanasana
Paschimotanasana

Sit down on the mat and keep both the legs in front of you.

Keeping the legs gently together, breathe in and raise the hands up. Now breathing out bend forward from the hips and try to touch the toes. Gradually you can hold the legs as shown in image.

Repeat at least 3 times .

  • Bhujangasana
Bhujangasana

Lie down on the tummy ( stomach ). Join the legs together and place both the hands comfortably besides the shoulders.

Now breath in and raise the head, neck, shoulders and the upper body ( in the mentioned order ).
Breathing out go down.

Repeat 3 times initially, gradually increase the number of times.

  • Ardha Matsyendrasana

Please follow the video for detailed instructions. Breathe in center, breathe out twist into the final position.

Repeat three rounds ( three on each side )
